Snow on the Med

Dodging the snow showers this afternoon was a Med Gull - surely the finest of all gulls. The 5th for Blackdog and second April running.

Short-eared Owls much in evidence recently - one today but three on Wednesday evening. Still no proper migrants except Sandwich Tern.

74 species (=58.73%)

  1. I beg to differ. There are many excellent candidates for finest gull. While an adult in bright sunlight is pleasant, there are plenty of better candidates. All of which have to be named after someone to qualify!

    Ross's, Heerman's Audouin's, Sabine's are truly gorgeous.

  2. Well funnily enough, I saw a Heerman's Gull half an hour ago. Would be stretching the patch boundary a little to count it so Med remains top of my pecking order (at least until one of the others graces the "Playa de la Landfill").
