what is an arctic warbler?

A bit off topic, but interesting paper in April's Ibis on arctic warblers:

Apparently there are three anciently separated cryptic species in the traditional species, and these can be separated by song and call.

Unfortunately, two of the species occur in the far east and japan, so less chance of vagrancy.

  2. Having been in on the finding of an Arctic Warbler on Reg & Bushveld's patch many moons ago (still rankles that the record got kicked), I was wondering have any of youse had an arctic on yer patch? None here, tho did get the Cape Bird two (?) autumns ago - ain't had greenish here either (yet!)
