Purple patch

Woohoo! Scored a fine brace of purple sandpipers today on de patch, although only one features in the following snap

Was "working" just now when a text came in alerting me to the presence of a spotted flycatcher in Dirk - off I went to verify it, and it was one! Yeah! Year tickage! And i get to waste more time blogging about it afterwards! Double bonus!

Some pueing siskins over yesterday morning were new for the year, and when I heard some more I looked at them and lo and behold they were pueing snow buntings! Huzzah! First ones here since 2005! Blimey! Dipped the ortolan though, which was therefore clearly bollox!

And then I cracked and went off to Mizen to see the Hudsonian Whimbrel, which was nice.
